Gtalk support in future

Any idea about support for Gtalk/Hangouts after next week, when they stop supporting XMPP/Jabber on servers?

The official app is bloated and almost unusable, and also limited to Chrome only...

Let's wait for 16.02 and see. They might still keep XMPP support for 3-rd party clients.
