Facebook unable to connect

As of two days ago, the Facebook RM plugin in my Miranda NG client is no longer able to connect to Facebook. Is this happening for everyone (i.e. the problem is on Facebook's side of things), or is it just me?

I'm not too sure what "Login error: Your Computer Needs to Be Cleaned" or "login(): Something with Facebook went wrong" is supposed to mean, so help would be much appreciated.

empire539, hi, does it work now or is it still broken? Few people already reported me such problem, but it solved itself in few days. As a workaround you can delete the DeviceID key in your Miranda with Database Editor++ plugin, in branch Facebook (or what's your internal name).

Hi Robyer, it is still broken for me. I have also tried deleting the DeviceID key using Database Editor++, but Miranda NG will still not connect to Facebook.

The network log still shows the same errors - Login error: Your Computer Needs to Be Cleaned and login(): Something with Facebook went wrong.

empire539, then try to login from webbrowser (either from Private mode or just new browser, or delete cookies for Facebook page first). It should show you this message there too, and you can solve it by clicking next next. Then delete DeviceID in Miranda again, and it should let you login.

I don't have time to fix it these days...

btw: a quick fix for me (probably doing the same thing as the DB edit) was disabling and enabling the FB account (maybe restart miranda).

Nope. We're not even using the API at all - plugin is using classic webpage (and pretending to be webbrowser). And I'm periodically adapting it to any new website changes :-)

KtW, hi, could you try to login in web browser in private mode? (i.e. without cookies)

For me plugin works correctly in Miranda.

Hi,

For two days I have a similar connection problem to Facebook. I also tried the DeviceID removal workaround without success. Login works from the web browser. I think something has been changed on Facebook (some post field or check value) that prevents the Miranda plugin from login. Could you please fix this or suggest me a workaround?

Hi,

Not sure if FB is actually not connecting - it seems to log on ok, but the plugin will hang at that point & chew CPU like crazy.

This is the entire FB console output, it'll just sit at the last line forever. I tried logging in both normal & basic FB sites ( including the specific URL in the last output ) in a browser with complete success, also tried deleting the device ID with zero success.

I have some ideas about why it's failing there but as I'm not familiar with the internal process here, I'll just take  any suggestions offered.

Karibanu, it seems like known bug when using OpenSSL plugin. It doesn't work together (same problem is with OpenSSL + SkypeWeb plugin). You need to disable the OpenSSL for now.

OK, removing the OpenSSL dll fixed that & my recent MSN issue too ( not sure why that only failed yesterday... ). Thanks!
