After a long time of MirandaNG inactivity I saw a new release, downloaded the zip archive and extracted it into the old existing MirandaNG folder.

After launch I clicked on"My profiles" tab and selected my old profile (which is still in a subfolder of Miranda NG.
Unfortunately an error popup appears:

"Miranda can't open that profile
There is no suitable database driver installed"

Whats wrong?

Which database? Which driver?

Even if I tick the checkbox at the bottom: and select one of the drop-down entries it does not help.

How can I open my old profile?

Portable version contains only core and basic plugins
You should update each of the other plugins you use.

https://miranda-ng.org/distr/stable/x64/Plugins/
https://miranda-ng.org/distr/stable/x32/Plugins/

Since you mentioned that you have a very old version, I guess you used dbx_mmap.dll or dbx_mdbx.dll database driver (plugin for working with a specific database format). The current version only contains dbx_sqlite.dll "out of the box", so it couldn't read the database in MMAP or MDBX format. Download every plugin manually and unpack ALL content to Miranda folder. If the plugin archive, for example, contains not only /Plugins/Plugin.dll, but also /Libs/Lib.mir, you should place both folders in the Miranda folder.

We recommend installing and using the PluginUpdater plugin next time. It not only updates plugins, but also removes garbage in the form of outdated plugins that we have discontinued support for, and can also make a backup copy of binaries before updating.

Manual updating is not recommended.
