GG plugin - cannot establish secure connection
« on: 31 01 2018, 09:13:13 »
Hi
After updating plugins a couple of days ago I started to recive this message when trying to connect with GG protocol: Cannot establish secure connection.
Can anybody help me with this problem? I guess that it has something to do with ssl or certificates but I have not done anything new with the windows.
My info:

Do you have OpenSSL plugin active, as it is needed in win XP? (It is listed in VersionInfo) Could you make Network log for core ang gg with all options and see if there are any additional info? (Console plugin could be usefull to just look them up in real time).

GG plugin was changed to force SSL Connection and that with updates to libgadu library result in disconnection if it cannot be established. Before that even when option to make secured connection was checked in options, then in case of fail, plugin was connecting with unsecured connection probably silently (not sure if there was popup error, or just single entry in log)

Ok.. So I found out what was the problem.
First I tried miranda on a different pc with windows 10 but GG could not connect. So it was not because of old OS. I've started checking miranda configuration and saw that I totally forgot that GG was set to connect through proxy. It was because previously I have been using two computers at work which one of them needed a proxy to connect and for the second it was irrelevant if it was using a proxy or not. So of course I had it constantly turned on. I don't know if something changed in proxy configuration or in miranda but when I turned off proxy for GG everything was back to normal.
