Problem with tabs on right side in TabSRMM
« on: 13 05 2016, 16:39:00 »
Like in the topic - problem is with tabsrmm.
Few months ago (2-3) after update (can't tell which one, sorry) - tabs on right side of the chat window stopped disappearing when i'm closing them.
They just stuck there - as a button that is visible, but doesn't respond to any actions. If i open conversation with same person, NEW tab appears. And... that's everything i can tell about it i think :D Here is screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/7EuCOh7.png
Plus - tabs on top and bottom are working perfectly.

I will now also use the opportunity to suggest something - i also send a ticket for it about 2 years ago.
It would be cool to have avatar-only tabs, especially when it comes to tabs on sides. There is a 'advanced avatar view' (or whatever its called in english), but its kinda too big without any way to making it smaller. I tried to downsize font to 1 and color it with background color, but well, the size of the tabs is just fixed. Here is image how it is and how i see it:

No response - sorry for double post then.
I have two questions then...
1. Is someone still developing tabsrmm plugin? How is it going if so? Info of the website of tabsrmm was updated last time in 2011, so i have bad feelings :c
2. Can i download somewhere old version of this plugin and lock it from updating?

1) We have few devs, where some of them have few own plugins (e.g. I have Facebook), but most of plugins doesn't have dedicated developer.
But anyone interested could fix/improve any plugin. TabSRMM's dev Nightwish (which owns that website you mentioned) stopped development even before NG was created.

And all actual/updated info, related to NG, is on our wiki. So all other websites (of particular plugins) are not related to NG and are not up to date.

2) That's not a good idea, as combining old and new versions of plugins/core will result in weird problems or crashes sooner or later. But yes, you can lock plugin from updating, but it's discouraged.

You should rather make bug report to our tracker so it won't get lost here on forum, and someone may eventually look at it.

If it is problem like this, where you know it got broken in some version or in some particular time, then it's good, because you can try different releases from different revisions and narrow down where exactly the problem started to happen.

a) you can either compile the revisions yourself, but that require more knowledge and time or
b) you can tell someone in our jabber conference to help you identify potentially problematic revisions (which affects TabSRMM source code) and then ask Watcher to compile these revisions for you.

Then you can try to reproduce your problem in each of them and find out when it got broken.

With that info you it's easy to reach out the developer who commited the broken commit and ask him to look at it.

Note to some wiki author: Maybe this info should be (re)written to the "reporting bugs" page to better understand the process for users in these cases?
I was developing mainly Facebook, Omegle, Steam, Dummy and MobileState plugins. Now I'm retired. Goodbye, everyone. ~ You can still find me on Facebook.
