I had something similar years ago, in my organisation i was by FAR the highest facebook user (we can look at logs on our proxy), and i don't use facebook at all (apart from connecting using the facebook protocol in miranda).  I didn't even really use the facebook miranda protocol - i just go online.  never send any messages, yet i was still the biggest FB user on the network.  This was back in Miranda-IM i believe.  As i wasn't really using it, i just uninstalled the protocol and all went back to normal.
Sorry this isn't a solution to your problem, but more of a me too post.

monocolumn, do you have a news notification turned on in miranda FB?

monocolumn, thanks for report. I would be interested more in an exact request (URL) it is doing. You can use for that eg. Fiddler (for http sniffing) if you can't do that with your software (but I guess you can do it there too).

Anyway, right now I can expect you are on stable version of Miranda and there were reports that plugin doesn't receive any messages, which means the channel requests are broken. And probably that's even your problem.

So, this can happen when Facebook changes something and for channel requests responds immediatelly with error - that results in Miranda requesting again and again and again - as you can see from your video.

TL;DR: Wait for update of Facebook plugin in stable Miranda NG (shall be here during today or tomorrow) or switch to development version of Miranda NG (which is fixed there for many weeks already).

omniwolf, next time, to help yourself and others, please report such issues!

This always makes me sad when user with some problem just stop using something (and some also start empty complains), instead of letting developer know and fixing the issue...

I was developing mainly Facebook, Omegle, Steam, Dummy and MobileState plugins. Now I'm retired. Goodbye, everyone. ~ You can still find me on Facebook.

the behaviour changed today.
now 0.95.4 connects with 2 connections to 31.13.93.3 with permanent network activity.
the first 1 has constant 5kb/s and the second one has 10kb/s.

in fiddler i have 6 entries:
mbasic.facebook.com:443
login.facebook.com:443
www.facebook.com:443
mbasic.facebook.com:443
2-edge-chat.facebook.com:443
www.facebook.com:443

now i use 0.95.5 and all looks fine. thx.

to be honest i think at the time i just assumed it was expected behaviour.  If you look at my activity on these forums (i've reported a twitter bug - no response) and the old Miranda IM forums, i'm quite active in this regard :)

omniwolf, I see, allright then :-) I remember you from IM forums.

With Twitter it's problematic, because there is no direct maintainer of it. Btw what bug? Could you give me a link? :)

http://forum.miranda-ng.org/index.php?topic=4122.0

I used to be the twitter plugin maintainer in miranda-IM days, never had access in the miranda-ng days, but i don't have a dev environment setup anymore, so it's of no consequence
