This is a bug that has existed since before Miranda 10.16 and still exists in Miranda NG 0.95.4. It could potentially be related to how Yahoo servers handle longterm connections rather than a bug in Miranda.
Bug: Yahoo file transfers will fail to start (send or receive) if you have been connected to yahoo for ~24 hours without logging off/on again. (Might not take a full 24 hours of being connected to break the file transfers, but its easily duplicable after 24 hours.)
Fix: Logging off and then back on again will allow file transfers to function, can both send and receive files after reconnecting.
Attached is a netlog of my failure to send a file to a contact.
