Miranda on a linux machine?
« on: 04 11 2014, 06:46:02 »
Has anyone gotten miranda-ng to work on a linux-based system?

Currently I'm running xubuntu on a secondary machine, but it just won't work under wine.
Would like to move miranda there

Code snip down below is from the 32bit version, but neither 32 nor 64 bit works.

Try to use simplest set-up - StdClist, StdMsg, StdChat - this means disabling or deleting TabSRMM and Clist_modern (Scriver and Clist_nicer might also work, but i would start with the most simple components to be on a safe side. And if it works - you can try to work your way up to more advanced contact list and message window). Also do not use  SSL or TLS in Jabber or any other protocol connections.

There it is  ;D We did some prank with Robyer on April's first. It's actually Miranda under wine emulation running on my vbox  ;D

Thanks! :] got it working.. so far all plugins I use (and has so far downloaded to that machine) are working, except for Clist_modern ... Clist_nices is working though, including TabSRMM. Will continue to test with a simple copy of my original miranda

Gave up on ubunutu and reverted to windows on that machine so don't have it left :\ it was just a test run that didn't work to satisfaction. Going back depends on 1 or 2 software's working: ad-muncher, and miranda-ng

I would like to install Linux on my new machine, but so far am unable to get rid of Windows XP by any normal means. Could someone please help me get rid of this bastard Microsoft product?
Any default Linux installation wipe everything off the face of the hard disk. So, I, too, don't understand your issue.
