Watrack : problem detecting time length
(1/1)
SpinalBlood:
Hi, I have a problem with the watrack.dll plugin:
I use the latest Winamp version and while the plugin works fine with mp3, in Winamp I have several plugin of formats that aren't apparently supported or listed in watrack options (under tab basic - formats). An example are midi files.
I generally use these variables as inserting in message window:
%wndtext%
%total% %bitrate% %mono%
Then if one of the unsupported format in watrack is played, the "total" "bitrate" and "mono" (might be more, but I haven't tested them as I don't use them) are reporting the values of the latest supported file (mp3 for example). If it's the first file played, the results are 0:00 - 0 - (empty)
The %wndtext% format instead, still works fine. That said, wouldn't be possible to add a variable, at least for the time length, that follows the time reported in the playlist? Might it be easier than searching inside the file structure?
Thanks

Awkward:
you mean, these values don't reset between tracks? ok, i will check, thanks!
SpinalBlood:
Yes they reset with the normal formats. But it doesn't work with .mid .mod and some other formats; it searches the previous data (like mp3) apart from filename
Examples (in succession):
1) aa.mp3 aa - 1:34 - 128 stereo
2) bb.mid bb - 1:34 - 128 stereo
3) cc.mp3 cc - 2:52 - 192 stereo
4) dd.mod dd - 2:52 - 192 stereo
Although the plugin is not designed specifically for Winamp, it should be possible to read the playlist time regardless of the format? (I know some formats nowadays are obscure, but...)
Thanks
SpinalBlood:
I have retested this plugin after a very long time since the first post; it seems at the moment it's currently not working; some formats like .mid and .mod (and a few others) seems to be not supported
It's unfortunate because when I was using the old Miranda IM, there was a plugin called "Winamp Notify" which worked fine with all extensions supported by winamp itself... :-\
