I'm trying to change the message input area to be the same dark grey color as the message window, but no matter what I try to change, it stays white. I've gone into Customize > Fonts and colors and changed everything I could find that seemed to relate to that. Maybe I missed something?

Hi!

Inexplicably, this colour (In the Customize->Fonts and colors) is the "Message Sessions-> "Incoming timestamp (old)" colour.

Change the "Color/Background" property of this one and it will change the background colour of the text input area.

BlackCat,
dunno how you succeeded to change the back color in StdMsg separately, but if you edit it in the Options - Customize - Fonts & colors - Message log, all back colors will be reset to the same value

Oh my god, Vulpix, thank you SO MUCH. I NEVER would have found that on my own. It worked!!!

ghazan, where is that located in the option tree? I've attached a screenshot showing mine, I can't seem to find that one.
And - the color of stdmsg was changed in the skin I'm using/editing: http://fav.me/d1lgd2q . I guess since it was for a much older version of miranda, it couldn't do all the changes it used to be able to do.

Oh I just had whichever one I was using recently selected in that screenshot, not necessarily where I was looking for stdmsg. I'm still trying to find stdmsg though, I've looked through every selection. Can you tell me the tree?

So please attach VersionInfo

You should disable TabSRMM in order to see StdMsg-related settings.
