Weird behavior of checkboxes. EDIT: pluginupdater hash check broken, possibly?

Sometimes - SOMETIMES - the menu options with checkboxes simply won't work. I was able to reproduce it randomly when cancel-closing and reopening the miranda main menu. Just watch:

Okay, this is very strange but somehow I found that when I force-updated my miranda (by setting my dev preference to something else->apply->back to dev+pdb), miranda started working normally.

Can this be explained somehow?

I heard that plugin updater works a bit differently and that it does not necessarily have to serve the file even if it's recompiled, as long as it does not have any changes in it. But it works now and it doesn't work when I revert, so where is the problem?

Setting my dev preference to something else->apply->back to dev+pdb will always force a full redownload of all components from the server, hashes are ignored in that case. This is to make sure that the pdb files are correctly downloaded.

Hello Wishmaster!

The point I was trying to make was not that this is weird, but that after I've done this (and force-redownloaded everything), my miranda started working normally. Even though previously, when checking for updates, it would say that no updates are available. That's the weird part; the redownload is normal and I understand why.

Make sure that you dont accidentally have two copies of Miranda running at the same time. I've experienced something similar to this when i had an old version open, and was configuring a new version to be identical (trying to get a fresh start for debugging purposes) sometimes the UI would glitch out and not accept input on one of them after a few minutes. Ive experienced the bug about 3 times now over the years, im not certain if its the -exact- cause, but it only -seems- to happen when ive got two copies of Miranda running at the same time. Sometimes just closing and re-opening one of the mirandas will fix the issue, sometimes not.

And if you didnt have two copies open, then im pretty much out of guesses. Ive been unable to duplicate the issue easily in order to report it as a bug.

Definitely not two instances, and it was definitely pluginupdater because why else would it work after force-updating and stop working when reverting? :D
