MirPy Python Plugin
« on: 06 10 2015, 15:53:23 »
Hi

Does anyone have a copy of the original source code for the MirPy plugin? The originally Miranda IM thread points to a non-existent link.

Thanks
Blair

I googled and found it here, it seems: http://eblis.tla.ro/projects/miranda/MirPy/
I was developing mainly Facebook, Omegle, Steam, Dummy and MobileState plugins. Now I'm retired. Goodbye, everyone. ~ You can still find me on Facebook.

Hmm, that's bad...

bsdz, do you have sources to share? :) Or what do you need, DoReMi?

the real source of the "protocols" module seems to be missing though...

If you're referring to the protocols.pyx file, then you're right. Although, the compiled pyx file "protocols.c" should work. Perhaps at some point it should be updated to use either cython or cffi. Sadly, I don't have much time to help right now.

Any progress on porting this to Miranda NG?

No, but we have MirLua. Most likely, MirPy won't be ported, because there is MirLua.

Well, that is very sad. While there's no account for taste, i still wouldn't know a thing about programming anything in Lua, whereas doing something in Python is a breeze.

OTOH, i could understand your (or anyone else's) reluctance - i would expect that creating language bindings for Miranda involves a lot of work, since doesn't seem to have any kind of introspection necessary for easy automatic binding generation.

*sigh*. I guess i'd have to dust off my Lua skills.
