ICQ GroupChat - Participant Names
« on: 30 04 2014, 16:09:28 »
Hi there ..

quick question - maybe just not able to find the correct config switch.

ICQ supports Groupchats via contacts like <somenumber>@chat.agent

On mobile clients (android, iphone) or official ICQ clients
the talking groupmember can be recognized.

In Miranda NG it I do only see "Name1, Name2, etc:  text " which is the initial groupname. I can change that via rename.
But this does not help to differenciate the participants.

Something like "GroupName (Name1): text" would be nice.

Do i miss a config switch somewhere or is this just not implemented yet ?

Really looking forward to use this on miranda, spreading the word and getting rid of whatsapp  ;D
Regards
 Dave

ICQ is almost dead and code of Miranda's plugin is ancient - none of the coders wants to invest his time in this plugin, sorry.

Thank you watcher,
I was just hoping to get people away back from WhatsApp switching them to ICQ and Groupchat.

So this is a lost cause then. ;-(

Just found this on another topic:

Even now when people are going back to ICQ again no one wants to invest in the plugin?

EDIT: actually, I was going to post this message in this thread about ICQ, that's why I said "Just found this on another topic" at first.

Are there any specifications of the protocol available online or elsewhere? Show them to us. The days of reverse engendering are over.

actually... in one way or another there are specs :P Just because a lot of open source IMs use it^^

Otherwise... if the problem is that no one can do reverse engineering... well I can ;) But I've got other stuff to do apparently.
