Skype support definitely lost?

Hello, I think what Microsoft proclaimed got true, e.g. SkypeKit ceased working for me a few days ago.

Does it mean there will be no more support for this protocol without running the official client? What are the options? What can we expect in the future?

For me, SkypeKit started to crash Miranda NG about the time Microsoft said it turns SkypeKit support off. So I thought it was due to that change... But if it works for you, I may give it one more chance...

SkypeKit is non-compatible with Win8.1. It started to crash as soon as I installed 8.1.

Still works on work machine with my WinXP.

Guys from Trillian done some changes in skypekit, then it works on 8.1. So, why miranda didnt fix it? So much users strongly need skypekit for miranda ng on windows 8.1

G100M, is there a patch? Trillian is a closed project - we don't have an access to their code. Point us to the solution and we will fix it.

AFAIK they just used old SkypeKit version, which works on Win 8.1. But we don't have such binary, because when we started Skype plugin on SkypeKit, it was already in this newest version. And because SkypeKit libraries are signed and allowed to run only with original application, we can't use SkypeKit from Trillian.

And SkypeKit support will be lost either way in few months (maybe 8?), because Microsoft killed it. Right now you can use SkypeClassic plugin on Windows 8.1. But it will be perhaps dead in same time too.
