Skype plugin with Microsoft account

hello,
I have installed the Skype plugin, and I believe it to have been installed correctly.
Everytime I try to log in I get the message Wrong/Invalid password. Is this because I am using a Microsoft account, instead of a "actual" Skype account?
Could anyone confurm this?
If so is there a way to use Skype with Miranda NG under such conditions?

I don't think that Microsoft accounts work with SkypeKit (Skype SDK that Miranda NG plugin is based upon), so pure Skype accounts only needed.

Yes, you can send and receive files.

I'm not sure if creating a new account not related with your windows live account and migrating all contacts would be possible.

I am wondering what future plans there are in regards to Skype Kit based plugin?
Skype has discontinued it, and it doesn't work on Win 8.1! what are the plans for future Skype support,  if any at this time?!

It will work until it will stop working - it's as simple as that. We will not kill it, nor develop it in any way (why bother with dying product?). So when Skype will decide to pull the plug - this will be it.
