Дополнение: после включения миранды контакт JABBER (Conversations) был онлайн но сообщения от него не было, вылез popup - <имя> has stopped typing.

Facebook protocol is deprecated and no longer supported in newer Miranda versions.

Facebook servers stopped supporting the old Android app we were masquerading as.

You may not update Miranda, but sooner or later the Facebook token will expire and Miranda will no longer be able to connect.

without facebook plugin, miranda going to be useless

Дополнение к багу в предыдущем сообщении (версия в разработке), выходя из спящего режима подгрузилось сообщение в Jabber из Conversations - никакой индикации что сообщение пришло (трей не мигал и окно сообщений не открылось), только в popup - <пользователь> has stopped typing, и он во время выхода из спящего режима был онлайн. По умолчанию окно сообщений открывается при входящем сообщении.

Hello.

I'm not sure that this is a problem with Miranda-NG, but I thought I'd get your thoughts.

Starting last night, Mrranda-NG hasn't been able to access xmpp.jp. This has happened to a friend as well.

I went onto the xmpp.jp web site and I was able to log in and use their web client.
I had a chat session with another xmpp.jp user and he has the same problem with Miranda.
But in his case, he used to be able to access xmpp.jp using Python xmpp libraries on a Raspberry Pi5, but that has failed as well. So it looks like a problem with the xmpp.jp server.

I submitted a bug report through the xmpp.jp web site.

I thought I'd post here, just in case you see something that might help the xmpp.jp developers.

My xmpp client (profanity: https://profanity-im.github.io/) also could no longer connect today.  I was able to get back in by changing the setting for TLS to 'legacy', which according to the client documentation does the following: "Use legacy TLS for the connection. It means server doesn't support STARTTLS and TLS is forced just after TCP connection is established."

I changed the XMPP.jp account settings from "Secure XMPP Network" to "Secure XMPP Network (old style)" and that worked for me and my friend.

This means the need to reverse engineer the protocol and requires a lot of human resources. Precisely because Facebook does not provide a documented API. You will have to recreate this API from scratch by reverse engineering their applications.

Thank you for the clarification.
From a technical perspective, is it still possible to develop such a protocol implementation independently, or is integration now only feasible through an official API? If the latter is the case, that would of course significantly limit the options.
It would be great if someone from the community were willing to attempt a complete reimplementation of the plugin from scratch, should that still be technically viable.
Unfortunately, this change means that Miranda has become unusable for me for the time being. Still, who knows—perhaps Facebook support will return in the future.

Until there is an open source implementation of their new protocol, there will be no support in Miranda.
