Hi guys.
Tonight,after Miranda said there were updates fot it and I let it do them. But now this error shown on the attached picture is showing up on launch.Have no Idea what it says,as I don't understand german.So can you help me with it? Tried restoring it from a backup,but after the update the result is the same.
It was working fine before the update.

Fixed already. It’s getting harder to maintain the database driver under shitty Windows XP...

What is your operating system? We fixed the database driver starting under Windows XP. We don’t know about problems in other operating systems,

I have the same issue on Windows 10 1909 x64 using Miranda NG 0.95.11 alpha build #22354 (c4b49b47f8).

This is strange, because developers use Windows 10 x64 too... Anyway try to update
This error means that the database driver did not start and Miranda cannot read the profile, therefore, it believes that profile has an unknown format

Hmm, update to what? Looking at https://github.com/miranda-ng/miranda-ng/commits/master my c4b49b47f8 seems to be the most recent version.
Are the previous builds archived somewhere? I would like to downgrade to yesterdays build to see if it works again.

Backup your current profile (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Miranda NG by default) and try to create new profile. If this succeeds, then the problem is in your profile, if unsuccessfully, then problem is in the database driver.
Previous versions of binaries are stored in <Miranda path>\Plugin Updates\Backups

We need to find out where the problem is: in the damaged profiles that opened on the new driver or in the driver itself.

With a new profile, the application starts.
I restored my profile from a backup from yesterday morning, when the application worked. This profile does not work now with the current application. :(

I just started the stable version ( https://www.miranda-ng.org/distr/stable/miranda-ng-v0.95.10.3_x64.7z ) with my profile. This works.

Thus, some profiles (for example, I didn’t have any problems) that worked on libmdbx before the update contains something that prevents them from opening by updated libmdbx.

Okay, replacing
Miranda NG\Libs\libmdbx.mir
with the backup from
Miranda NG\Plugin Updates\Backups\Libs\libmdbx.mir
also fixes the nightly version for me. My profile is very old, I am using Miranda IM since 15 years or so.

You can also try to create new profile and import all content from old profile to new one
- install Import plugin (if not installed)
- create new profile (tick "Run in service mode with: Import" in Profile manager!)
- import all settings, contacts, history from old profile

Mine is very old too,been using Miranda-IM and then transferred to NG.
Will try what Chol suggested tomorrow and let you know if it works for me too.

It seems 0.95.11.0 corrupts the previously fine profile.
The error message says its not a correct profile format.

Same problem here. I was using 0.95.11 alpha build #21986 (c311534fbf) from July 2019. Ran the Updater today for development version (build #22354 (c4b49b47f8)) and when it restarted, it gave the same "Miranda can't understand that profile" error popup. The profile doesn't start with "Miranda NG DB" but the first 20 bytes is null. Is this MDBX?

Got it working: Deleted the Profile directory, set Miranda to create a new SQLite profile and start in Service Mode with Import.dll, imported the old database and now it works. The new imported profile has shrunk from 4MB to 3.45MB. I hope I didn't lose any data.

Seems like it was fixed. Try to update to build #22355.
If you cannot launch Miranda due to bad profile, backup profile, create a new one, update Miranda and restore old profile

Do not update to #22355 unless you have your profile backed up! It might damage your profile when it loads. Recommended to make a new profile and import the old one since that works properly. I posted the details in the issue tracker:

Edit: Data is not destroyed (I think) and is reusable on old version.

Finally, fixed.
All databases which at least once started with the build 22354 are broken. So you need to update to build 22356 (at least), kill current database and restore database from yesterday (or earlier) backup.

New day,new update,new problem.I did the database compact and it seems to get rid of the previous problem.But this morning did an update and now upon launch Miranda crashes.It offered me to store the crash in the clipboard,so here it is:

- Start Miranda
- if it does not crash, upgrade to a version with debugging symbols via PluginUpdater
- Install ICQ via PluginUpdater
if the crash happens again, the crashlog will contain useful information
without debugging symbols it is almost useless
