Title: Miranda NG demands Update install to continue working
Post by: Barry@daram.com on 13 09 2019, 15:12:55
We are using Miranda, but all users do not have ADmin permissions to install updates, however Miranda NG will not continue working unless they install the updates.

The problem is you release updates often, which is good, except for this problem.

For updates do not require administrator privileges, most likely the program is installed in the folder it can be the rights of administrator for writes, example in Program Files

no, Miranda can easily run even if it didn't install updates, you need just to close the update dialog
also you can check for updates once a week, for example (tune the interval in Options - Plugin Updater)

also you can install Miranda into %APPDATA% folder, where any user has full control, or, if you are the domain admin, install Miranda on a network share and run it from there (only you will update dlls)

Hi,

I do not find the right place in Miranda where I can set the GLOBAL STATUS.

Can you give me a hint please?

And: Isn´t there an option INSIDE Miranda to start Miranda automatically when booting Windows?

Thanks and kind regards

1) Right-click Miranda icon in tray → Status. On screenshot you can see global status (red) and protocol (ICQ) status (green)

2) Install AutoRun plugin via Plugin Updater (Main menu → Available components list) then go to Settings → Services → Autorun

or just put Miranda shortcut into C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup...
