May I ask how can it be, that I can't find option to make specific contact floating? I have only option in main menu, to make all floating contact hidden.
-
Could you be more specific about what option in main menu are you talking about? I personally don't know which option do you have in mind and where to find it. Also tell us at least which contact list plugin do you use.
Never heard about floating contact (not contacts) and don't know what purpose would it be in having such.
-
Contact list I am using is clist_modern.
Please, take a look https://ibb.co/cs1Shx (https://ibb.co/cs1Shx).
Here's the option that in English is "Hide all thumbs", but in my native language (Polish) is "Hide floating contacts". I remember from the pre-NG version, that I've indeed had such possiblity, to drag contacts outside from contact list and place them anywhere on desktop and I'd really like to have this feature now...
-
Try to install FltContacts plugin
-
That menu item you are showing is from FltContacts plugin actually. But I'm unable to make it work (regression?) You were asking how to make one contact floating and that kinda lost me.
In ClistModern you can make all contacts floating with "Main menu->Frames->My contacts->Floating mode" (you may need to enable its title too to be able to drag it).
-
Fltcontacts is already "on board", and I have some configuration options in Miranda options, but like I already said, I can't find how to get specific contacts outside of the contact list and place them as separate items on desktop.
:-(
-
Just grab it and drag outside of contact list area

Just grab it and drag outside of contact list area
Sorry, "no go"... :-(
-
Using default settings
-
That's exactly what I am looking for, but whatever clist plugin i'll use (clist_nicer, modern or blind) I can't do it... :-(
-
So do a simple quick test. Download a clean new archive with Miranda. Unpack it somewhere. Run it. Add new test profile. Using "Available component list" from main menu, add FltConatacts plugin and maybe AddContactPlus too, to be able to easily add fake contacts. Create/add some fake test account, maybe jabber like I did on provided GIF. Add one, or two test contacts and try to make them float. If that will work then it will tell us that sth in your configuration could interfering. Additionally to that, post an actual VersionInfo from your normal Miranda

Hello Goraf,
Thank You for Your interest. I did as You suggest, and outcome is that definitelly something is wrong with my setup - in the new, clear instance of Miranda drag and drop for contact works ok.

I found one option that is blocking floating contacts (pretty obvious when spotted..) Look at "Options:Contact list:Tab List", option "Disable drag and drop of items" shouldn't be checked (screenshot provided). If it wouldn't be it, then we'll start more drastic digging.

For God's sake! That's it!
You're great man Goraf, and I am blind mole...! :D
Thank You!
