Latest version of miranda being latest nightly/alpha or latest stable? Please post a proper version info.

Latest "alpha" version has no issues with offline messages on ICQ - neither sending nor receiving. Both work just fine.

0.10? That's miranda IM. Different client. Try downloading and using miranda NG (this client), Offline ICQ measages are working.

Hmm, I didn't have to do that and it's working for me. I guess it's something strange with ICQ; though I don't use the protocol much anymore, I just started it to check if offline messages work or not, hehe.

Perhaps it affects only users who logged in from mobile ICQ client or from official client, idk. But there haven't been many many improvements regarding ICQ communication so I wanted to note this problem might be same in IM and NG.

Hey,
since 1-2 weeks, I can't receive offline messages on ICQ.
I used Miranda IM, but swiched now to NG hoping the problem would disappear, but no.
I used the Miranda IM Updater to get the latest version of NG. (32bit)

I already killed all sessions, although it was only the one session from my desktop.
I'm not using any other ICQ client (like mobile or whatever).

Anybody else experiencing the same behavior?
Thanks, black

Hey,

Hey, its the same over here for me and a friend of me. We always use the icq protocol to write messages, and we rely upon the offline messages. But they don't work anymore.
We have tested it with the latest version of Miranda NG. On another OS i'm still using an older version (before the migration of the database), but its not working anymore there too ... :/

Any help or explanation from the devs about this problem?

Thanks for sharing, that I'm not alone having these problems!
I was getting really frustrated, finding no other mentioning online and no reason on my end.

Would appreciate it too!

This is a server-side problem, not Miranda. Some unofficial clients (QIP, for example) are affected too.
If Mail.ru (ICQ owner) drop offline messages support in favor to cloud history (official client use it) we can not fix it.
If someone wants to completely rewrite our ICQ protocol implementation (cloud history, multiple devices sync, big avatars support) - you are welcome

Thanks, dartraiden, for clarifying the real problem. That's a pity.
Who would like to rewrite everything... kinda unlikely.

Looks like we have to serach for an alternative...
