Hello,
I am a long-time Miranda user, and recently upgraded to Miranda NG.. At this time I started using the Skype (SkypeKit version) through Miranda.
However my problem is that the green arrow systray notification blinks for really short time, so I often miss that somebody has spoken in the group chats.. Is there a way to make it blink until chat room is open or at least long enough time ?

You can enable regular blinking on different events in tabsrmm chat:

I don't have this tab on my Group Chats section ?
Is this some plugin, or something needs to be updated ? I have upgraded from the casual miranda using the upgrade plugin.

Yes, you'll need to install TabSRMM.

I have it, but then all my non-group conversations are opened into tabs which I don't want to. Is is possible to have TabSRMM enabled and still have my non-group chats open in separate windows ?

Sorry to be writing again..
I had it done, however even though the 'Notify in Tray' for Messages is checked I don't get the blinking icon in the systray..
Anything else I might be missing ?

It seems that it notifies with the same icon that blinks on MUC tab, and only for a short time.

This was the problem initially. It blinks for a short time.

You can't get green arrow to blink longer. You can only be noticed on some other ways: using highlighting or pop-ups options.
There is a problem with non-group open tab contacts and the sys tray icon. Whenever your tab is opened, Miranda NG understands like you already read all those messages, so that it doesn't have to notice you about it. I have the same problem. That's why I always close the tab whenever I write to somebody. Next time he writes me, sys tray icon will work. It's probably the same when you're using windows instead of tabs.

I don't have any notification problems with non-group chats when using interface with separate windows. Actually I usually have tabSRMM disabled.
However it is a real pity that the blinking group-chat notification cannot be made to last longer. Currently it is in a near useless state, because I cannot always monitor the systray or I can be away from computer at the time of the event. I have never tried pop-up notifications which I generally avoid because they sort of ruin my privacy in an environment where my monitor is visible.
Isn't there any environment in the database that can be edited to at least provide longer blinking of the group-chat notification or any other workaround not involving pop-ups ?

I understand you when speaking about pop-ups. I hate them for the same reason. Anyway, it's kinda weird to hear that you care about all activity inside of the group chat. I mean, it's weird that you don't want to miss any message from anyone.
Well, you can always use highlighting options (options > group chats > highlighting (tab) > check "enable highlighting for message text") and then just write there most of the frequent symbols (letters) like: a b c d e f...etc ;)

I do participate in a couple of skype group chats that have discussions connected with my job (due to shitty in-corporate messanger) and generally I don't want to miss messages there. I will try working it around with a high-lighting, but still... the stock skype client has normal notification on all group chats, I don't see any reason why Miranda cannot have a notification not going off after 5 seconds of blinking.... It's a bit weird decision.. You have config on how many times you want your window to flash, but you have absolutely no control on how you are notified on a group-chat activity. I know for at least two people who tried to adopt Miranda as an all-inclusive messenger and gave up for the very same reason.
