My understanding of the MSN Plugin and Skype Web plugins was that if you have a linked account (not originally Skype), you used the MSN protocol. I tried to do that, but after creating an account on Miranda NG, it's able to show me as signed in, but no contacts appear. After an exhaustive search, I tried installing the OpenSSL plugin, but that didn't change anything.
I tried Skype Web as an alternative, which doesn't sign me in. It shows me as offline, and if I choose to appear online, it appears to be working, and then returns to offline.
I'm not sure what exactly I'm doing incorrectly. I've checked the wiki on MNG and the individual plugins, but there's very little in the way of a setup guide on how to use it. Can anyone render assistance?

network log for Skype will be appreciated

I tried to follow the instructions in the URL you provided me. After enabling logging, I don't see a log file created after I attempt to set my status as online, and then disabling logging.
I'm in the default path "C:\Program Files\Miranda NG" but the log file doesn't appear.
Steps I took:
Options > Network > Logging > [CHECK] "File" (Path: "%miranda_logpath%\netlog.txt" > attempt to reproduce by changing status to online > [UNCHECK] "File."
-
You also should choose what part of Miranda traffic you want to log.

Also, maybe this fix help.

Thanks for your response. The Netlib log options show the following options checked:
Miranda core logging
Crash Dumper HTTP connections
Plugin Updater HTTP connections
Skype connection
Even with all these checked, I don't see a log file in the Miranda folder (default) when I did the abovementioned set of steps.
As for the fix you mentioned, could you please elaborate on it? I've only just started using Miranda NG, and have run into this issue. Not certain what that fix requires me to do.

Right below [CHECK] "File" (Path: "%miranda_logpath%\netlog.txt" in options, should be displayed a full path to the log file. For me it expands to sth like "...\Miranda NG\Profiles\<name_of_profile>\Logs\netlog.txt"
Mentioned fix will be included in the next update for development version (updates on daily basis), so to try it out you have to switch updates channel to development version in "Options > Services > Plugin updater > Files source" and then update files with "Main menu > Check for updates". All plugins and so on will be swapped to dev version. But if you have some important data in your profile then create a backup first. Just in case.

Well, that was embarrassing. I made the error of assuming that the default path meant that it was in the Miranda folder. Here is the URL to the Netlog for the Skype issue: "http://pasted.co/e1c03b7e" for you guys.
Went ahead and changed the version from stable to development version and ran the update. Created a new account, selected the MSN protocol, added my Hotmail e-mail address and password, and clicked OK. Changed login status to online. Nothing, no contacts show up. Doesn't even make a contact list like the Skype plugin does.
Don't see any error message throughout this process, however.

Update: now there is an error message when I try to change my status for the MSN account. "Your MSN account e-mail is unverified. Goto http://www.passport.com and verify the primary e-mail first."
Trying to navigate to the abovementioned URL leads to an error (page can't be displayed).
Clicking "yes" on the dialogue box didn't do anything, but that could be the pop-up blocker I have on. Having trouble recreating the whole scenario I mentioned above right now.

Just updated the MSN plugin again today and the issue is resolved.
