Title: Settings flags and gender per contact
Post by: Dimsok on 31 01 2015, 19:07:32
I've added flag plugin, but can't find out how to choose flags for each contacts. In miranda-im i could add that option in contact menu. The same for setting gender

In miranda-im i could add that option in contact menu.

Then in Miranda IM you had UserInfoEx plugin. Remove flag plugin, install UserInfoEx (http://wiki.miranda-ng.org/index.php?title=Plugin:UInfoEx/en).

Thanks for the tip. But in miranda-im i didn't have that plugin. I had gender.dll and flags.dll. Remember i customized menu items to select flag with right click

We got rid of gender.dll.

And flag.dll is very old plugin with very old code base. It was heavily rewritten, something might have been lost in process. Thin is - in 3 years no one said a word. So i guess not many use this plugin. Anyway feel free to open a ticket on our bug tracker.

Yes, but it did job. And your advised plugins has so many features wich i don't need and have to figure out how to disable all except possibility to setting up gender and flags

I've noticed that. But the option to tweak menu by adding option to manually setting gender would be nice, cause so many contacts has it unsetted. Adding cause of that possibility userinfoex it's like to rent the tank to go to the foodstore

the old Gender plugin didn't have that option, so there's no place in Miranda where to add it.
UInfoEx already has it.

This plugin shows gender icon in contact list. Nothing more ;)

Service offering misc country utilities as flag icons and a IP-to-Country database.

Features:
+ Provides country utility services for other plugins (Flag Icons, IP-To-Country)
+ Shows country flags as extra images on contact list
+ Shows country flags as status icons on message windows
+ Flag icon can be hidden if no country can be determined
+ Flag icon is automatically refreshed when user details are updated
+ Automatic installation of all files, just unzip into Plugins directory

Both plugins are for showing gender or flags extra icons - not to set them. To set your own stuff - there must be plugin like userinfoex that lets you write your own stuff to contact's database. Both plugins that you've mentioned lack this ability.

I would love to use userinfoex, but i can't see how can i disable iconized contact info. It's not very convenient as by default

It does not help us in any way - no source code, mod made by someone.

Dimsok: Create a feature request on our UserVoice (http://miranda-ng.uservoice.com/forums/250387-general), maybe I'll do something about that in the future ;-)
