An http-based Skype plugin
« on: 12 03 2015, 20:24:39 »
I understand that the Facebook plugin essentially reverse engineers facebook.com's webchat function.  Is it conceivable that the same thing could be done with outlook.com, thereby allowing for Skype chat without needing to install Skype?  Is there interest in this from a developer or user perspective?

Thanks for the info!

I wonder if "Skype for Web" is merely an extension of "Outlook.com Chat".  Skype for Web being focused on implementing video and audio in pure web technologies while the IM portion is already developed and used in Outlook.com Chat.

The code is here, specifically:

Nothing goes wrong with compiling it - but  all this plugin does for now - is showing contacts and their user info, even no online/offline indication yet.

May I ask, if Skype is about to denounce MSN as a protocol dedicated to broad-usage,

- is the current SkypeWeb dev blog showing any tracing signs over the utilized port-range, considering former MSN plugin code?
- how (in line-depth) is the composition of Cpp code which is being transfered towards web (thus, java), but client-wise?

Thanx in advance!

Both your questions make exactly zero sense.
